The largest problem the league commissioner had was communicating with his players not only the schedule but also the standings, scores, league rules and registration. Their previous solution made it difficult for him to keep the site updated himself. Players were always expressing frustration with outdated content.
It was easy to see that this was a pretty good WordPress solution. Granted WordPress is not specifically built for running a sports league there are freely available plug-ins that while not perfect serve as a very cost effective (did i mention FREE) intermediary solution to at least give the league manager the ability to keep the site updated himself
